The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, and his Labour Party counterpart, Peter Obi, have rejected Wednesday’s judgment of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal affirming the election of President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress.

Atiku’s Lead Counsel, Chris Uche, SAN, said he had received instructions from his client (Atiku), a former Vice President, to file an appeal at the Supreme Court.

“The judgment has been delivered but we have not received justice. Luckily, the law has given us leverage to go on appeal to the Supreme Court. We have instructions from our clients to go to the Supreme Court. The struggle continues,” Uche said.

Also, for Obi, the judgment of the Presidential Tribunal which affirmed President Tinubu’s election will be appealed at the Supreme Court.

The Tribunal had on Wednesday dismissed Obi’s claim that his votes were suppressed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in favour of Tinubu.

Speaking to newsmen, Obi’s lead counsel, Livy Uzoukwu SAN, said his client (Obi), a former Anambra governor, will appeal the judgment.

“We have firm instructions from our client to appeal the decision,” he said.
