One person has been confirmed dead while three others are missing as Seplat Energy Oil rig collapses on Tuesday near Ovhor in Delta.

The oil company confirmed the incident in a statement signed by its Chief Executive Officer, Roger Brown shared on their X (formerly Twitter) handle on Tuesday.

Seplat noted that 92 of the 96-member crew were accounted for and safe.

The statement said, “Seplat Energy regrets to announce a serious incident on the Depthwise swamp drilling rig ‘Majestic’ in the early hours of this morning.
