Tobi Amusan has been permitted by Global Athletics to compete in this month’s global championship in Budapest, Hungary.
As a result, the reigning 100m hurdles champion will be able to defend her title.
Amusan has been named to the roster of Nigerian competitors who will compete in the event by the global governing body for athletics.
However, her participation will be contingent on her ability to overcome an anti-doping rule violation accusation made against her by the Athletics Integrity Unit, AIU.
The AIU temporarily banned Amusan last month for failing three drug tests, but the Nigerian opted to fight the accusation.
After successfully defending her Nigerian, African Championships, African Games, Commonwealth Games, and Diamond League championships, Amusan has yet to compete in the World Championships.
The World Athletics Championships 2023 will take place from August 19 to 27.
