Immediate-past governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir el-Rufa’i, a former deputy governor of Taraba State, Senator Abubakar Danladi and an executive director at NEXIM Bank, Stella Oketete were not cleared as the Nigerian Senate approved 45 of 48 ministerial nominees forwarded to it by President Bola Tinubu,
Senate President Godswill Akpabio said the names of the trio were not listed among those okayed because te Senate was still awaiting security clearance on them.
Those confirmed followed the consideration and approval of the nominees during Monday’s plenary.
The nominees include:

4. Prof. Joseph Utsev (Benue),
5. Sen. John Enoh (Cross River).

9. Uche Nnaji (Enugu),
10. Bello Muhammad (Sokoto),
11. Mohammed Badaru (Jigawa),
12. Yusuf Tuggar (Bauchi),
13. Uju-Ken Ohaneye (Anambra).
14. Abdullahi Gwarzo (Kano),
15. Simon Lalong (Plateau),
16. Bello Matawalle (Zamfara),

In his remarks, President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio thanked the lawmakers for their doggedness throughout the exercise.
He said that the Senate had so far confirmed 45 ministerial nominees out of the 48 sent by the President.
“The others yet to be confirmed are former governor of Kaduna Nasir El-Rufai, Sen. Abubakar Danladi (Taraba) and Executive Director (Business Development) of Nigerian Export and Import Bank (NEXIM), Stella Okotete.”
According to Akpabio, the trio are still awaiting security clearance.”
