Francis Ugachukwu, a visually handicapped man, will chill out at the Kirikiri Correctional Facility after being accused of defiling a 13-year-old girl (name withheld).

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the defendant was remanded in custody until the hearing and submission of his bail application by Justice Abiola Soladoye of the Ikeja Sexual Offenses and Domestic Violence Court.

For a hearing on the bail request and the start of the trial, Soladoye postponed the case to October 18.

Ugachukwu was charged with defilment on one count.

But the accused entered a not guilty plea to the accusation.

The defendant committed an offense on No. 16 Kareem Giwa St., Abule-Osun, Ojoo in Lagos, at some point in November 2022, claims the state’s attorney, Abimbola Abolade.

The prosecution claims that the offense violated Section 137 of the Lagos State Criminal Laws from 2015.
