The Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti has approved the immediate suspension from office of the state’s Head of Service, Mr. Onyi Nwamah.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Kazie Uko on Thursday in Umuahia.

He said the suspension follows the inauguration of the Judicial Panel of Inquiry on the Recovery of Properties and Funds belonging to the state government.

Uko said Governor Otti also approved the suspension of all Permanent Secretaries in the State Civil Service.

However, two Permanent Secretaries were spared by the suspension order including John Pedro Iroakazi, Clerk of the State House of Assembly; and Mrs. U. G. Uche Ikonne, the Solicitor-General of the state.
