Popular Trademore Estate in Lugbe, located along Airport road, Abuja, on Friday, was submerged by flood following hours of heavy downpour.

According to reports, no fewer than 116 houses, vehicles, shops and other properties were affected by the flood that followed the rain.

A corpse has been recovered from the canal by the entrance of the estate following the flood incident that affected the area.

It was gathered that the ravaging floods at the Trademore Estate were caused by infractions on the water channel.

Many residents were allegedly rendered homeless with some occupants missing following the incident.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), has assured that it will reinforce its officers to the estate with immediate effect to continue searching for other missing persons.
