The Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki has congratulated Senator Godswill Akpabio on his emergence as Senate President of the 10th National Assembly.
Akpabio, a former Akwa-Ibom governor and ex-Niger Delta Affairs minister, was on Tuesday, elected as President of the 10th Senate. He defeated Abdulaziz Yari, former Zamfara governor, to emerge winner.
In a statement he personally signed, on Tuesday, Obaseki said he is confident that Akpabio will give a good account of himself and deliver on this new national assignment.
“Senator Akpabio comes with immense experience as a former Governor and Minister, garnering wide-ranging expertise that will benefit the 10th Senate and advance the development of our dear nation.
“His understanding of the machinery of State will smoothen executive-legislative collaboration, which will enhance good governance and engender sustainable development,” the governor noted.
