The Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has raised the alarm over the activities of scammers and impostors who have opened several social media accounts with his name and photographs with the purpose of defrauding the people.

In a statement by his Senior Special Adviser on Media, Boniface Onyedi, on Sunday, Fubara warned members of the public to beware of the activities of the social media impersonators, while listing the official social media accounts.

The statement read, ”Sequel to such unauthorised infiltration, we bring to the notice of the general public that the only approved and authorised official social media handles of the Governor is: Sir Siminalayi Fubara on Facebook, @SimFubaraKSC on twitter and @simfubaraksc on Instagram.

“We hope this will put an end to such several unauthorised and fake social media accounts used to send messages that did not emanate from the governor.

“Hence, we implore Rivers people and the general public to disregard any of those social media handles operated by impostors”.
