*Seun Kuti assaults police officer

Afrobeat artist, Seun Kuti has said he assaulted the police officer in the recent viral video for allegedly attempting to kill him and members of his family.

Reacting to the video which went viral on Saturday, attracting negative criticism, the Grammy-nominated singer said the officer has apologised and he has forgiven him.

He warned those saying he was chasing clout to mind their business and not let the police operative lose his job.

Kuti said, “He tried to kill me and my family. I have the proof but I no dey chase clout. He has apologised and I have agreed not to press charges.

“Make una mind una business make the poor guy no lose him job (sic).”

Earlier, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba issued a directive for the immediate arrest and prosecution of Kuti for assaulting the cop on duty.
