Bola Tinubu, the President-elect, has pledged to continue in the footsteps of late President Musa Yar’Adua.

Tinubu stated that Yar’Adua was devoted to democracy and good governance in Nigeria.

He made the comment 13 years after Yar’Adua’s death, in his respect for him.

The President-elect said the deceased lived a purposeful life while on earth.

He said; “We’ll Never Forget You! Today, as always, I remember my good friend and brother in the struggle for democracy and good governance in Nigeria, the late President Musa Yar’Adua, who died on this day 13 years ago.

“As I prepare to take the reins of leadership of this country on May 29, I am determined to follow the good examples set by leaders like Mallam Umaru Yar’Adua who showcased an exceptional sense of propriety and selfless service to our dear country.”

Describing the deceased as a political associate, Tinubu said Yar’Adua was honest, steadfast, patriotic, and had excellent public service.
