A former Governor of Gombe State and All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator representing Gombe Central, Muhammad Danjuma Goje, has been expelled from the ruling party over alleged anti-party activities.

Goje, who was elected for a fourth term in the National Assembly, was expelled by the executive leadership of his Kashere Ward in Gombe following the report of the committee constituted to investigate the alleged infractions against the senator.

In a letter signed by Tanimu Abdullahi and Ishiyaku Ahmed Isa, Chairman and Secretary of the APC, Kashere Ward respectively, and endorsed by other excos, Goje was accused of failing to attend the Gombe APC campaign rally flag-off and the Tinubu-Shettima presidential rally in Gombe State.

He was also accused of hobnobbing with the opposition parties in the last general elections, and openly supporting opposition candidates by hosting them at his residence against the interest of his party, the APC at the state and national level.

The APC equally accused the ex-governor of anti-party activities during the recently concluded 2023 presidential, national assembly, gubernatorial and state assembly elections for failing to win his polling unit in the Kashere Ward for the party.

Meanwhile, the party leaders reiterated their confidence in the leadership of Governor of the State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya who was just recently re-elected for second and allegedly having a running battle with Senator Goje.
