Taiwo Awoniyi is upbeat Nottingham Forest can beat Manchester United in Sunday’s Premier League fixture.

Steve Cooper’s side are in the relegation zone with 27 points from 30 matches.

The Tricky Trees need to beat Manchester United to boost their survival hopes.

Forest have drawn at The City Ground against Chelsea and holders Manchester City this season.

Awoniyi believes Nottingham Forest can take something positive from the game.

“Now it is Manchester United which is the first step to what we want to achieve which is the goal to stay in the Premier League,” the Nigeria international told BBC Radio Nottingham.

“Like I said we just have to be ourselves, it doesn’t matter who we are playing, the most important thing is ourselves.”
