The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Malam Umar Namadi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the Jigawa governorship election held yesterday.
Namadi polled 618,449 votes to defeat his closest rival, Mr Mustapha Sule Lamido of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who emerged second with 368,726 votes, while Malam Aminu Ringim of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) got 37,156 votes.
