Unknown gunmen have reportedly disrupted the ongoing March 18, 2023 House of Assembly election at some polling units in Osun state.
Some of the units stormed by the gunmen include the Ward 5 unit 10 and 11, Iso-Pako, Alekunwodo area in Osogbo, the state capital.
Voters were seen scampering to safety immediately the gunmen arrived the voting centres.
The gunmen arrived in drove, in vehicles, while voting was ongoing, and chased voters away, bringing the exercise to a halt.
The gunmen, thereafter, destroyed ballot boxes before leaving the area.
metrowatchxtra.com reports that only House of Assembly poll is taking place in Osun, with the state governor, Ademola Adeleke, only recently elected.
