The majority of the local government areas in Oyo State, according to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), would vote for Governor Seyi Makinde.

The 2023 governor’s race is scheduled for Saturday, March 18, 2023.

Yet, the PDP has asserted that Makinde, the party’s nominee, will prevail in at least 29 of the state’s 33 local governments.

This announcement was made by Akeem Olatunji, the state’s PDP publicity secretary, in a statement made available to reporters on Wednesday.

In the message, Olatunji urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate to get ready and celebrate Governor Makinde as soon as it was announced that he had won and was the next governor.

He insisted that any opponent still competing with Makinde had already lost the race.

Olatunji claimed that the state’s residents had made up their minds to support Makinde’s goal for rapid growth.

He said, “As candidates and political parties prepare for the last days before Saturday’s governorship and house of assembly elections, the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo state has said the game is no longer a two-horse race as speculated boasting that its guber candidate, governor Seyi Makinde would convincingly clear the votes of nothing less than 29 Local governments landslide”.
