The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will appeal the judgement mandating it to allow those with Temporary Voter Cards to participate in the forthcoming Saturday, March 18 Governorship and State House of Assembly elections.

Rotimi Oyekanmi, Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists over the weekend, while acknowledging that a copy of the judgement had been received by the electoral body.

“The Independent National Electoral Commission has been served a copy of the judgement delivered today by the Federal High Court, Abuja Division which ordered it to allow two Plaintiffs to vote with their TVCs. We will appeal it,” Oyekanmi said.
