By Ogochukwu Isioma, Benin City.

Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the recently concluded February 25, 2023 general elections, Mr. Peter Obi, has charged the people of Edo State to vote LP candidates in the forthcoming March 18 House of Assembly election in the state.

metrowatchxtra.com reports that Obi gave the charge on Saturday during a thank you visit to supporters in the state and solidarity meeting with candidates of the party for House of Assembly seats ahead of the March 18 poll.

The former Anambra governor charged the Labour Party candidates to give in their best and get the desired victory because, according to him, ”a new Nigeria is possible and is indeed here.”

Obi, who said he was grateful to his supporters in Edo for the massive vote during the presidential poll, charged the people to come out again and vote all LP candidates in the March 18 poll, adding, “we are going to do things differently.”

As at the time of filing this report, a carnival-like rally and roadshow by Obi is underway in the heart of Benin City, the Edo State capital. He is expected to address a waiting crowd of supporters at an event centre, venue of the mini-rally.
