The Edo State Government has dismissed rumours that the government is conducting a screening exercise for pensioners in the state.

In a statement, the Permanent Secretary/Chairman, Edo State Pension Bureau, Abbe Osaro Washington, said the news is false and should be disregarded.

The statement reads, “The attention of the Edo State Government has been drawn to rumours making the rounds that the government is embarking on a screening exercise for pensioners in the state. The news is false and should be disregarded.

“The state government recently carried out a screening exercise for pensioners in the state which is still very much up to date, hence there is no need for a fresh screening now.
