Former Liberian President, Ms. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has deleted a tweet, where she congratulated Nigeria’s president-elect, Bola Tinubu.

Sirleaf had taken to her verified Twitter handle to congratulate the former Lagos governor on his victory at the February 25, 2023 presidential election.

“Congratulations to @officialABAT on his victory in #Nigeria, and to the Nigerian people for exercising their democratic right to vote. I encourage the new President to champion #WomenLeaders in his government and to ensure that the rights of women & girls remain a priority,” she wrote.

However, checks by metrowatchxtra.com Friday afternoon show that the former Liberian leader has now deleted her congratulatory message and didn’t give a reason for her action.
