Six States including Adamawa, Akwa-Ibom, Bayelsa, Delta, Edo and Sokoto have dragged the federal government to the Supreme Court over the manner in which Bola Tinubu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), emerged president-elect.

The states, according to a report by Daily Post, questioned the conduct, collation and announcement of the February 25, 2023 presidential and National Assembly elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

They prayed the apex court to void the pronouncement of Tinubu as the winner of the February 25 presidential election.

They argued that the results announced by INEC on Wednesday morning was in flagrant violation of the provisions of the Electoral Act.

The states want a declaration that failure to upload the results of each of the 176,974 polling units nationwide in real time was not in accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Act.
