Hundreds of residents of Maiduguri the Borno State capital waited 6 hours for the Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in the Maiduguri sports Centre for his final campaign visit to the state.
Most of them spent the better half of the time dancing in the sun with different kinds of banners displaying pictures of the presidential candidate and his vice Kashim Shettima who is a son of the soil.
Tinubu who had visited the state several times before last Saturday spent several hours consulting in the government house with major stake holder while the party chair Ali Dalori held down the crowd which waited patiently from about 8am until he emerged after 2pm in the afternoon.
The Presidential candidate who arrived in the company of Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum, APC Vice Presidential candidate Kashim Shettima and many others were greeted heartily by the crowd which went into a frenzy for the campaign rally at the Sports Centre yesterday.
Hundreds of others frenzied themselves on sighting the array of visitors which included former Governor Modu Sheriff, Ganduje of Kano and other serving governors and deputies.
During the campaign Bola Tinubu reeled out a list of promises which included security which is key to the people of the north east of Nigeria and development.
Others include the re-engineering of the economy of the nation especially those of the north east of Nigeria that suffered from the 12 years long insurgency.
He assured that his administration will address the concerns of displaced persons, orphans and other victims of Boko Haram crisis.
The APC Presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Tinubu told the crowd of supporters that his administration would not cut corners when it comes to what will benefit the people if elected.
Vice Presidential candidate Shettima equally assured that if elected he and his boss will focus on the resumption of oil exploration in the Lake Chad region.
Other dignitaries include former Governors, Senators, reps members, women leaders, wives of Governor Babagana Zulum and party stalwarts like Dr Abdullahi Adamu who presented an APC flag to Governor Babagana Zulum as the flag bearer of the state.
Several decampees were received lincluding the Deputy gubernatorial candidate of New Nigeria Peoples PARTY (NNPP)
