Some angry protesters on Wednesday reportedly set ablaze one of the Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) of a new generational bank in protest over scarcity of new Naira notes in Warri, Delta State.
Protest had earlier broken out in the city amid the hardship the naira scarcity coupled with fuel scarcity had caused on the citizens.
Residents lament over inability to access their money from the various deposit banks across the city. The banks are said to be rejecting old notes deposit, which led to more anger.
In a viral video seen by this Reporter, the ATM is seen on fire. While some fled for their lives as the fire broke out, other residents were observed trying to help rescue bank employees.
