Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, has congratulated a former Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr Solomon Arase, on his appointment as Chairman of Police Service Commission (PSC).
Agba’s goodwill message to Arase was contained in a letter dated February 2, 2023, addressed to the former IGP.
Entitled: “Letter of Congratulations”, Agba felicitated Arase on his nomination by President Muhammadu Buhari and subsequent confirmation by the Senate of the Federal Republic as PSC boss.
He said: “This unique national responsibility lustrously shows the certitude that President Muhammadu Buhari has in your ability and dexterity to deliver, as exemplified by your vast and wide experience and leadership demonstrated in all your previous positions up to the position of Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police.
“Coming so soon after your conferment with the national honour of Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR) by President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, this call to national service is a demonstration of Mr President’s confidence in your competence and capacity to deploy your vast wealth of experience in delivering on the responsibilities of your new position.
“As a decent, cerebral and disciplined police officer, I have no doubt that you will do well in providing innovative leadership in the Police Service Commission because several years after leaving the service, your sterling career is still benchmarked as the ultimate gold standard for integrity in modern Nigeria’s public service.
“I wish you success in all your endeavours and please accept, the assurances of my highest consideration.”
