The Edo First Movement (EFM) on Thursday flayed comments made by the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu where he tagged youths of the state as Internet fraudsters, otherwise known as ‘Yahoo Boys’.

Tinubu, during his campaign in Benin suggested that Edo State youths are predominantly ‘Yahoo Boys’ whom he will convert to manufacturers of technological wares if elected.

But in a statement Thursday evening, Ikpomwosan Harry, the spokesperson for EFM, said it was a great insult for Tinubu, who has questions of drug peddling and money laundering hanging on his neck, to suggest that Edo youths engage in fraudulent activities and need reformation.

The group advised that instead of Tinubu looking for what is not in Edo, he should focus on clearing his name and work to convince voters to hand over their Commonwealth to a man with an amorphous past instead of engaging red herring of noble Edo youths.

Mr Harry said Tinubu must tender an unresolved apology to hardworking Edo youths whose character he has impugned with his incendiary remarks at his campaign.

“Failure to do this, Asiwaju Tinubu should just forget Edo State in his election plans as we will be waiting stoutly for him at the polls,” the group warned. “Edo no be Lagos.”
