The Delta State Administrative Procedure Bill 2021, was Tuesday read the third time and subsequently passed by the State House of Assembly.
The passage of the Bill at Tuesday’s Plenary presided over by the Speaker of the State Legislature, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, was preceded by a report from the joint committee on Rules, Business, Legal and judicial matters as presented by its Chairman and member representing Ughelli North 1, State Constituency, Hon. Charles Oniyere.
Following the report, the Majority leader of the House, Hon Ferguson Onwo, moved a motion suspending order 12, rules 82 and 83 of the House as called by the Speaker, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori to enable the House take the third reading.
With the passage of the Bill, the law would help in improving the administration of justice in the State by prescribing fair and transparent procedures for State administrative agencies to propose and issue regulations and related matters.
Speaking shortly after the passage of the Bill, Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, lauded the lawmakers for their diligence in tye passage of the bill.
According to him, the passage of the bill will help in strengthening the rule of law and administrative processes in the State.
