Federal Government on Wednesday formally dismissed threats by bandits to kidnap President Muhammadu Buhari as “mere propaganda”, describing it as “laughable.”

Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed stated this while fielding questions from journalists at the end of the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, in Abuja.

A video footage had recently gone viral showing terrorists whipping the remaining Abuja-Kaduna train attack victims in their custody.

In the video, the terrorists threatened to kidnap President Buhari and the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.

On the president’s safety, Minister Lai Mohammed told journalists that the terrorists’ threats was “laughable”, adding that it is mere “propaganda”.
