Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr Peter Obi has disassociated himself from a smartphone application created by an unknown group claiming to be out to garner support for him.
According to the former Anambra governor, the phone app titled “Peter Obi Nation” is also not known to the Labour Party.
Obi spoke on Tuesday when he appeared on a radio programme. He maintained that people will do everything possible to pull him down ahead of the next year’s polls.
“I don’t know about the application. It is not from me or any campaign organization known to us. You know, people can do everything thing to pull me down,” Obi said.
The ex-Anambra governor further stated that opponents are now sponsoring ethnicity and campaign of bigotry to pull him down.
“I have said this before, let us bring all the presidential candidates, about 18 of us; let us look at our background and past records. But, people are not talking about what we can offer and they are now promoting ethnicity and tribalism,” he said.
Obi, therefore, urged Nigerians to ignore all those promoting ethnicity, and look at qualification as well as past records of the presidential candidates and what they can offer.
