Bauchi state governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed, who lost out at the presidential primary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held last weekend, has clinched the opposition party’s ticket for the 2023 governorship election in Bauchi.
The party’s governorship ticket was initially won by a former secretary to the state government, Barrister Ibrahim Kassim, who earlier stepped down for Mohammed.
Mohammed was returned as the governorship candidate unopposed after a fresh primary on Saturday at the Zaranda Hotel, Bauchi.
The PDP primary Returning Officer, Murtala Damagun, declared Mohammed polled 646 votes cast by delegates out of the 656 accredited for the exercise.
