Former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, has emerged the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) for the 2023 general elections.

Obi was elected unopposed Monday afternoon, May 30, 2022, at the party’s ongoing National Convention in Asaba, Delta State.

Earlier, Obi’s rival and erudite political economist, Prof. Pat Utomi, stepped down for the former governor to clinch the ticket.

Obi resigned from the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday, and switched to Labour Party (LP) on Friday.
