Former Governor of Ogun State, Gbenga Daniel, has won the ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for Ogun East Senatorial district in the 2023 general elections.
The former governor, who recently defected to the APC from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), polled 450 delegates votes to defeat the incumbent Senator, Lekan Mustapha, who polled 29 votes.
Among others also defeated were a former Deputy Governor to Ibikunle Amosun, Segun Adesegun, who polled six votes, and Mr Seyi Oduntan, who had 11 votes.
