The Kano State University of Science and Technology (KSUT), Wudil, has been renamed after Kano born Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Akiko Dangote.
A statement over the weekend said the approval was given by the Kano State Executive Council led by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
A statement by the state Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, he said the development followed recommendation by the university’s visitation panel.
Garba added that the institution is now to be called Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUST), Wudil.
The commissioner further explained that the approval has been transmitted to the State House of Assembly to study the relevant laws establishing the university for amendment.
