Former Deputy Governor (Operations) of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN and frontline governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Oyo state, Adebayo Adelabu, has dumped the party.

Adelabu, gubernatorial candidate of the APC in 2019, was one of the aspirants who contested the APC primary election held in Ibadan on Friday.

But on Sunday, Adelabu said he has now dumped the APC. The CBN former Deputy Governor, who did not disclose the party where he would join ahead of 2023, said that the APC has been hijacked in the state.

Adelabu, who spoke during an emergency meeting with his followers in Ibadan, added that he will realise his ambition in another political party.

Adelabu said that he is consulting with his followers from the 33 local government areas of the state to know the best political party to realise his ambition in 2023.

He said that he will announce his next political party in the next 48 hours after a meeting with leaders of his group.
