The Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) has given Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu the nod to contest for a second term in office.

The GAC is the highest decision making organ of the APC in Lagos. Their decision is always final and must be approved by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Gboyega Akosile disclosed this on his Twitter handle on Monday.

He said the GAC gave a pass mark to Sanwo-Olu for staying through to the developmental agenda of Lagos.

Akosile wrote: “Sanwo-Olu’s second term bid. The Governance Advisory Council at a meeting in Lagos today gave pass mark to Sanwo-Olu for staying through to the developmental agenda of Lagos. Congratulations dear boss!”

There have been speculations that the governor will not be given a second term ticket and that a politician in Ikorodu has been favoured.

But Sanwo-Olu has been at the forefront in campaigning for the presidential ambition of Asiwaju Tinubu.
