Gunmen suspected to be bandits on attacked Kaduna International Airport this Saturday afternoon, March 26, 2022.

News Express reports that the incident occurred around 12:47 p.m. when the gunmen stormed the runway in the western wing of the airport about the time a Lagos-bound AZMAN commercial aircraft was about taking off.

“The bandits came in their numbers on a recent mission of allegedly to retrieve cattle confiscated from them by security from neighbouring villages of the airport.

“They opened fire on the NAMA security staff, killing him instantly and tried to invade the runway to prevent the AZMAN aircraft from taking off. But combined troops foiled the bandits attempts.

“Everywhere is normal now. As I speak to you, there is heavy military presence at the airport,” the source added.
