A former governor of Benue state and frontline Chairmanship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress in today’s National Convention, Senator George Akume, has withdrawn from the race and endorsed Senator Abdullahi Adamu.
This latest development leaves President Muhammadu Buhari’s preferred candidate, Senator Adamu as the only contestant for the national chairmanship position.
Senator Mohammed Sani Musa, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, Abudulaziz Yari, Mal. Saliu Mustapha and Mohammed Saidu Etsu were the rest contestants who withdrew alongside Senator Akume from the race.
The former aspirants communicated their positions in a letter addressed to the APC Election sub-committee and sent to Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha for onward transmission to President Muhammadu Buhari.
