Twelve youths arrested as suspects over the murder of a young man, popular called Moniker China, at Mararaba Jama near Jos, Plateau State.
The 12 suspects are said to be helping the police unravel the mystery behind the murder of the young man, who was allegedly killed by a mob and body dropped in a neighborhood behind the old FO Oil, Mararaba Jama.
His body was found hanging on a tree and dripping blood from his head which had been battered by heavy doses of stones.
Sources told metrowatchxtra.com that the late China, who was a resident of Kuru, lost his life as a result of a bitter fracas he had with his friends suspected to be cultists.
“The quarrel went on throughout their drinking spree so they waited for him to drink himself to stupor before pouncing on him and giving him the beating of his life.
“They had to use rocks to make sure he was dead before dragging him down in to our area which was not the crime scene, just to incriminate our kids because we don’t know that boy.
“Surely they didn’t kill him in our area because we would have heard their squabble regardless of the time in the night and we would have intervened.
“They only came to drop him here after killing him to transfer guilt on our kids knowing that this place is not the crime scene” said one of the parents of the 12 while lamenting her ordeal to metrowatchxtra.com
The women also told this reporter that the men of the Nigeria Police, Bukuru Division, was holding on to the corpse of the young man untill they can get to the bottom of the investigation before handing over for burial.
When contacted, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Gabriel Ugba, said investigation was still going on in the matter adding that he would give updates to the public as soon as he had enough details on the investigation.
