A Sharia Court sitting in Magajin Gari, Kaduna State, on Monday granted the prayer’s for divorce filed by a housewife, Rakiya Ladan on grounds that she no longer loved her husband, Yahaya Abba.

Delivering his ruling, the Judge, Nuhu Falalu terminated the nine year- old marriage and ordered Abba to allow his estranged wife to take all her belongings from his house.

”Termination of marriage if sought by the wife in marriage is considered in Islamic law if the woman pays back the money she received as bride price.

”However, the defendant will forgo everything. The union has yielded children and the defendant cannot return his wife to her original form before he married her,” he held.
