On Saturday, reports spread that a female had detonated explosives at a wedding ceremony, killing over 30 people and injuring many more. During the condolence visit, Shettima termed the occurrence as pitiful. Speaking to journalists immediately after visiting and commiserating with victims of the attack at the State Specialist Hospital in Maiduguri, the Number Two citizen expressed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's sympathies to the Borno State administration and the people of Gwoza.
