US former Vice President Kamala Harris expressed regret on Tuesday for not opposing President Biden’s reelection bid in 2024.

“I think about it in the context of asking myself, was it grace to not bring it up to him, or was it reckless?

“And I do reflect on that, feeling that there was some recklessness in not raising it,” ABC quoted Harris as saying in an interview on Good Morning America.

Harris had stepped in to run Biden’s 2024 White House campaign after he withdrew in July 2024 due to health concerns following an unsuccessful TV debate with Donald Trump.

These remarks coincide with the upcoming release of Harris’ new memoir, 107 Days, which is set to launch on Wednesday.

In the book, Harris offered critiques of Biden during his time in the White House.

On Friday, The Guardian reported that Harris criticised Biden in her memoir, alleging that he prioritised his own interests over hers during her presidential campaign against current U.S. President Donald Trump.

Although Harris refrained from publicly criticising Biden after losing her campaign, the memoir reveals several tensions between the two.

For example, she criticised Biden for what she perceived as his failure to talk about reproductive rights in a way that met the gravity of the moment in 2022.

Although she claimed her accomplishments were only acknowledged when her support was needed to reassure the public.
