Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) are currently deployed in various parts of Akure, the Ondo State capital, to curb vote buying during the ongoing governorship election in the state.

Some of the operatives were spotted at the Sacred Heart Primary School, Cathedral, Akure.

Daily Post reports that the election is taking place across 3,933 polling units in the 18 LGAs of Ondo State.

Prior to the election, there were reports that some political parties were planning to influence voters’choices with cash.
