Binance, a cryptocurrency exchange, has expressed disappointment at the continuing detention of Tigran Gambaryan, its non-decision-making executive, in Nigeria.

Binance stated that Gambaryan, who held no decision-making power in the firm, was innocent and had dedicated his life to combating crime.

The corporation criticized the Federal High Court’s refusal to give Gambaryan bail.

On Friday, Justice Emeka Nwite, had refused to grant Gambaryan bail because he might jump bail if granted.

However, the crypto exchange said: “We are deeply disappointed that Tigran Gambaryan, who has no decision-making power in the company, continues to be detained.

“Tigran has been dedicated to public service and fighting crime for most of his life.

“These charges against him are completely meritless. He should be freed while discussions continue between Binance and Nigerian government officials.”
