The Socioeconomic Rights and Accountability Project, (SERAP), has filed a lawsuit against Senate President Godswill Akpabio over the inability to recall Bauchi Central Senator Abdul Ningi.

SERAP also sued Akpabio for failing to send the budget padding allegations to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for prosecution.

Ningi has expressed concerns that N3.7 trillion was untraceable in the 2024 budget.

His allegation led to a three-month suspension by the senate following his inability to substantiate the budget padding allegation.

Following his suspension, activist lawyer, Femi Falana had charged the Senate to reinstate Ningi, a demand that has not been met.
