The Federal Government has given approval for the construction of a cassava processing plant in Iguobazuwa, Ovia South West Local Government Area of Edo State.
This was disclosed by the Honourable member representing Ovia Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Dennis Idahosa, popularly known as DENCO.
He said the approval was given by the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment, adding that work has commenced today, Monday 14th March.
According to him, “When project is completed and fully operational, it will get its raw materials directly from over 200 farmers in a daily basis.
“The processing plant will also cultivate hectares of Cassava to ensure uninterrupted supplies of raw materials.
“In all these arrangements, massive jobs will be created and will also enhance the income of many farm families as well as improve on livelihood and standard of living,” Hon. Idahosa added.
The lawmaker noted that Ovia Federal Constituency is the first beneficiary of this proposed Agro Processing plant in the South South geo-political zone.
