The Presidency has lambasted the organized labour over its nationwide strike.

Reacting to the strike on Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information & Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and Trade Union Congress, TUC, are in a season of madness.

Onanuga said NLC and TUC are attempting to damage Nigeria’s economy “over bruised ego.”

In a post on X, Onanuga wrote: “It is truly the season of madness in NLC and TUC. It was unthinkable the NLC and TUC could go this low, resort to damage the national economy because of the bruised ego of one man.”

The organized labour had commenced an indefinite strike at 12:00 am on Tuesday.
