Robbers armed with machetes and other dangerous weapons in the wee hours of Thursday, reportedly invaded a female hostel of the Rivers State University of Technology (RSUT), Port-Harcourt.
According to reports, during the attack at the Hostel ‘B’, some female students were allegedly raped, while phones, laptops and other valuables were also looted during the raid.
Multiple sources confirmed that some students who made an attempt to resist the criminals were given machete cut and beaten mercilessly.
As at the time of filing this report, the University is yet to react to the development. All efforts to reach the University through the contact information published on their website proved abortive.
