Adidas has denied any discussions with Manchester United over Mason Greenwood’s status.
The football apparel manufacturers stated that they are not in a position to engage in such conversations or make choices concerning a club’s players or personnel.
As a result, Adidas stated that they had no negotiations with United over Greenwood’s future.
Greenwood has not played for United since he was charged with rape and other associated offenses in January 2022.
Despite the fact that the accusations were withdrawn in February 2023, he was nonetheless suspended by United.
The Sun claimed on Friday that United had discussions with Adidas about bringing Greenwood back.
The publication said that the conversations between the two groups were “positive.”
Adidas, United’s jersey sponsor, has denied any such discussions occurred.
As quoted by Metro, an Adidas spokesperson said, “After inaccurate and speculative reporting within the media, it’s important for us to clarify that Adidas has had no discussions with Manchester United regarding any member of their playing squad.
“We play no role in any decisions made regarding any member of the team or staff at the club.’
