Hugo Broos, South Africa’s head coach, believes his team can beat the Super Eagles to the 2026 FIFA World Cup ticket.
Broos’ team will compete against the Super Eagles in Group C of the African zone qualifiers.
The other teams in the group are Zimbabwe, Benin Republic, Rwanda, and Lesotho.
The group’s top team will get automatic qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, which will be held jointly by the United States of America, Canada, and Mexico.
The Belgian feels his team has the talent to advance from the group.
“The away games will be very important in a group like ours, but now a little bit more because we have five difficult away games for different reasons,” he told safa.net.
“I think it is possible for South Africa to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup first in the group.”
The qualifiers will start in November.
