The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano state has told the immediate past governor of Kano state, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje not to honour the invitation extended to him by the state anti-graft agency over the viral dollar video.

Recall that the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) had earlier in the week summoned Ganduje for interrogation over the controversial dollar video.

Muhyi Magaji, Chairman of the PCACC, who made this known, had noted that Ganduje was expected to appear next week before the Commission, as according to him, this is what the law says.

However, in a statement jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Kano APC, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas and Alhaji Zakari Sarina respectively, the party told Ganduje to turn down the invitation.

The APC alleged that the reenactment of the “politically motivated” issue of the Dollar video by the ruling New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), which is before a court of law, was part of a sinister ploy to debt the image of the former governor.

“The detractors are engaged in this campaign of calumny to draw a wedge between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Ganduje, one of the President’s strongest allies in the North,” the statement added.

The PCACC had over the weekend confirmed the authenticity of the viral video showing Ganduje allegedly receiving millions of dollars as bribe from a state contractor when he held sway as governor of Kano state.

Chairman of the PCACC, Muhyi Magaji who confirmed this, noted that forensic analysis of the video showing Ganduje receiving bribe from a contractor indicated that the video was not digitally cloned as claimed by some of his (Ganduje’s) loyalists.
