A former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva, has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primaries in Bayelsa State.
He will now fly the party’s flag as candidate of the APC in the November 11, 2023 off-cycle governorship election in the Southern state, contesting against the incumbent Governor Douye Diri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
METROWATCHXTRA.COM reports that Sylva recently resigned his appointment as Petroleum junior Minister to contest the APC primaries held today ahead of the Bayelsa state gubernatorial election.
